| Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a high speed switching service through
KPU Telecommunications local telephone network. ISDN allows both high speed
data and digital quality voice communications to travel on the same basic telephone line
at the same time. |
Basic Rate Interface (BRI)

| BRI ISDN consists of two 64kbps B channels and a 16kbps D channel. The B channels can
be used for simultaneous data and voice transmission with the D channel providing
signaling or the channels can be combined to provide 128kbps data transmission. A BRI ISDN
line will allow you to operate a fax, send and receive data at 64kpbs and operate a
telephone line on a single telephone line. |
