The Bear Pack made a gallant try to get the meanest cat in the world ready for competition at Reno this year

but it was not to be, the complex work of building up a custom 3350, getting it to Reno, hung on the airframe and de-bugged proved to be too much for the team to accomplish but they missed qualifying for 2002 by a very few hours worth of work. 

But the Bear did make appearances on the ramp for run-ups on several nights 

 The biggest round of applause during the whole event was after the Sunday Gold Racers took the runway

The Rare Bear came out of the dust from the pits with her massive 3 blade prop dragging her under her own power for the first time in several years

With luck in 2003 there will be a very hungry Bear on the ramp looking to defend the honor of the round engine crowd.
